Data basis¶
In ConCertainty, measurement series and proficiency test participations form the data basis for the measurement uncertainty determination. They differ in the context of their origin – measurement series from everyday laboratory work, proficiency test participations from an organized comparison program – and in the way they are included in the calculation.
Measurement series¶
Measurement series contain measured values determined in your own laboratory. The contribution they can make to the measurement uncertainty determination – reproducibility, comparability, or both – depends on the laboratory sample used.

Proficiency test participations¶
Proficiency test participations record the results of your participation in a (usually externally organized) proficiency test. The comparison values contained therein are included in the measurement uncertainty determination.

Info
Before you can record measurement series, the master data must be set up. An overview can be found under Getting Started: Setting up ConCertainty.
