Create Test Profile

A test profile links a test method to a matrix and defines which parameters can be determined with it. It is the central unit to which all measurement data and evaluations refer.

Before you create a test profile, the following master data must already exist:

  • at least one test method
  • at least one matrix with associated materials
  • at least one parameter

Info

If none of these prerequisites has been met yet, first follow the setup sequence under First Steps: Setting Up ConCertainty.

Creating a Test Profile

In the left-hand menu, under Master Data, open the Test Profiles section and select Create Test Profile.

Step 1: Enter Basic Data

First select Test Method and Matrix from the respective selection fields. From these two entries, ConCertainty automatically generates a suggestion for the name and identifier of the test profile.

Info

The name and identifier can be manually adjusted before saving. Once saved, the identifier is immutable. For more information, see Identifiers.

Optionally, you can add a description.

Step 2: Select Unit

In the Parameters section, first select a unit from the selection field. This step is required before parameters can be added.

Warning

Without a selected unit, the parameter list remains locked. Select the unit before assigning parameters.

If you also want to use PSE elements (elements of the periodic table) as parameters, enable the Include PSE elements checkbox. The available parameter list will then be expanded to include all 118 elements.

Step 3: Assign Parameters

Parameters are assigned using two lists displayed side by side:

  • Available – all parameters that match the selected unit
  • Assigned – parameters that are assigned to the test profile

Select one or more parameters in the left-hand list and choose Add Selected to move them to the right-hand list. Use Remove Selected to remove parameters from the assignment again.

Use the search field above the respective list to quickly find the desired entry when there are many parameters.

Info

A test profile must contain at least one parameter. The technical suitability of a parameter for the test profile is the responsibility of the laboratory – ConCertainty imposes no restrictions here.

Step 4: Save the Test Profile

Select Create to save the test profile. It then appears in the test profile overview and is available for measurement data recording and evaluation.

Parameters with Different Units

If parameters with different units are to be combined in a single test profile, repeat steps 2 and 3 for each additional unit. To do this, select a new unit from the selection field – the parameters already assigned are retained.

Editing a Test Profile

You can open an existing test profile via the edit icon in the test profile overview or via the detail view of the test profile. The name and description can be changed afterward. The identifier is immutable after the first save.

Parameters can be added afterward, but can no longer be removed. Removing a parameter would make existing measurement data inconsistent.

Deactivating a Test Profile

Using the status switch in the overview, you can set a test profile to Inactive. Inactive test profiles are no longer available for selection during measurement data recording.
