Storing a test method¶
A test method identifies the basis in ConCertainty according to which an analysis was carried out – a standard, a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), or an in-house laboratory method. It forms the methodological basis of a test profile.
A test method is not bound to a specific matrix. The same standard or in-house method can be used in several test profiles for different matrices – the assignment is only established when the test profile is created.
Creating a test method¶
In the left-hand menu, under Master data, open the Test methods section and select Create test method.
Fill in the fields:
- Name – the designation of the method, e.g. "DIN EN 14726", "DIN 38405" or "In-house method"
- Identifier – automatically generated from the name and can be adjusted before saving
- Description – a brief explanation of the method (optional)
- Link – a reference to the external standard document, e.g. a URL to the standard in the Beuth portal or in the DGUV library (optional)
Warning
Once saved, the identifier is immutable. For more information on this, see Identifiers.
Select Create to save the test method.
Editing a test method¶
You can open an existing test method via the edit icon in the overview or via the detail view. Name, description, and link can be changed afterwards. The identifier is immutable after the first save.
Deactivating a test method¶
You can set a test method to Inactive using the status switch in the overview. Inactive test methods are no longer available for selection when creating new test profiles.
